Myers aims to secure the Quorum Court seat for District 5, currently held by Justice of the Peace Barbara Weinstock who will not be seeking re-election. Myers is running on a Republican ticket.

According to Jonesboro Sun's report on Myers' campaign announcement, he said: "County government is one of the closest forms of government to the people, and I want to be the kind of Quorum Court member who spends time listening to the constituents that I serve, and being their voice on matters of policy and management. [...] I'm a fiscal conservative who believes we should live within our means and work hard to stay within a balanced budget."

The Jonesboro Sun also reported that Myers brings considerable experience from his professional background. He managed automotive and implement dealerships for 15 years before spending the last 18 years working in the transportation industry.

Myers hails from Sedgwick where he grew up on a farm. A family man with three daughters, he graduated from Hoxie High School and attended Arkansas State University.
