Washington – This week, Congressmen Rick Crawford (AR-01) and Randy Weber (TX-14) introduced a House resolution, designating May 7th-13th as National Correctional Officers Week.
“As we celebrate our law enforcement for Police Week, it’s important that we remember the role correctional officers also play in our justice system,” Rep. Crawford said. “Correctional officers face danger every day to serve and protect their local communities. I am proud to support all of our law enforcement and stand by them at a time when anti-police rhetoric is being embraced by liberal extremists.”
“Our correctional officers put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe and our prisons secure,” said Rep. Weber. “We owe a debt of gratitude to our correctional and law enforcement officers who work tirelessly to maintain law and order. I am proud to designate and recognize National Correctional Officers Week. Thank you to the courageous men and women in my district and nationwide.”
