Arkansas State University will conduct its 2022 Fall Commencement on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 10 a.m. at First National Bank Arena.Chancellor Todd Shields will confer degrees upon graduates from eight colleges, including Agriculture, Neil Griffin College of Business, Education and Behavioral Science, Engineering and Computer Science, Liberal Arts and Communication, Nursing and Health Professions, Sciences and Mathematics and University College.Approximately 1,880 graduates will receive doctoral, specialist, master, bachelor and associate degrees.Lauren Byrd of Glen Carbon, Ill., will be the featured speaker on behalf of the graduating class. Byrd, who will receive a Bachelor of Science in radiologic sciences, was selected due to having the highest Latin honors and most A-State credit hours. Byrd will graduate summa cum laude.Graduates and guests can enter the arena through the red and yellow entrances. Doors will be open at 8 a.m. and graduates are asked to arrive one hour prior to the beginning of the ceremony. Graduates will be seated alphabetically and by college. There will be no processional or recessional. Those attending the ceremony are welcome to sit anywhere that is not designated as reserved.Because this is one of the last shopping weekends of the holiday season, traffic will be heavy and guests are asked to plan accordingly.All parking near First National Bank Arena will be available with gates up. Parking on grass surfaces will not be permitted. There is a clear bag policy that will be enforced for all guests. Details on parking locations for graduation can be found online.
