CROWLEY'S RIDGE COLLEGE: Pioneers Wrap Up Season Debut

The men's golf team competed yesterday, September 13th, in day number two of the Williams Baptist Fall Invitational hosted in Kennett, MO.

The Pioneers were in search of a way to shave a few strokes off their team total as they currently sat in 9th place overall after day one of play. Totaling 411 strokes as a team and sitting +51 over par. Day two the Pioneers would again be challenged with finding an answer as they would end day two with a team total of 420 strokes and +60 over par, ending the tournament with a team total of 831 strokes landing them +111 over par ending in 9th overall.

Andrew Lee would lead the Pioneers in day two of play. After shooting 82 (+10) in the opening 18, Lee would shave 5 strokes off his game and end the second day of play with 77 strokes (+5) over par for a total of 159 (+15) in the tournament making him tied for 33rd overall.

Isaac Langley would come in second in place on the team after leading them in the first round. Langley was coming off a hot start shooting 73 (+1) the opening round. Langley would add 14 stokes to his previous, ending round two with 87 Strokes (+15) above par for a total of 160 (+16) for the tournament putting him in 36th overall.

Joseph Ramsey would come in third for the Pioneers. The freshmen shot 83 (+11) in his debut in the opening round but would improve his score on day two. He would lose three stokes ending the second day 80 (+8) above par. He would complete his first career match totaling 163 (+19) above par making him tied for 40th overall.

Creston Sweet would drop from finishing second after day one to fourth for the team. Day one Sweet shot 81 (+9) over par. In day two he would add 4 strokes ending day two 85 (+13) over par. With this score it would make his total for the contest 166 (+22) over par, putting him tied for 47th place.

Matthew Crabtree would bring up the rear both days. Crabtree shot 92 (+20) on day one of the WBU Invitational and would better his game by losing one stroke on day two finishing 91 (+19) in the second 18. He would end the contest with a stroke total of 183 (+39) over par for the match marking him 57th overall.

Golf next appearance on the green will be on September 26th- 27th at the Chickasaw Golf Course in Henderson, TN. competing in the Freed-Hardeman University fall Invitational
