Arkansas State University issued the following announcement on May 2.
Arkansas State University will hold its 2022 Spring Commencement ceremony at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 7, in Centennial Bank Stadium. The event is open to the public and seating for family and friends will be first-come, first-choice at the ceremony.
Chancellor Kelly Damphousse will confer degrees upon graduates from eight colleges including Agriculture, Neil Griffin College of Business, Education and Behavioral Science, Engineering and Computer Science, Liberal Arts and Communication, Nursing and Health Professions, and Sciences and Mathematics, along with University College. Graduates will receive doctoral, specialist, master, bachelor and associate degrees.
Lt. Col. J. Morgan Weatherly, professor of military science, will administer the commissioning oath to graduating seniors who completed the ROTC program..
A-State’s standard clear bag policy will be in effect, and no outside food and drink will be allowed. Sodexo will have water, coffee and soft drinks for sale on both sides of stadium. Free water will be provided to students on the field courtesy of the Chancellor’s Office. Also, umbrellas will be permitted in the stands.
Parking is available on all hard-surface parking lots near Centennial Bank Stadium. There is no parking on the grass or along state highways.
Graduates are asked to report to the Student Activity Center with doors opening at 8:30 a.m. for both the SAC and stadium.
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors in the First National Bank Arena at the same date and time.
