Crowley's Ridge College issued the following announcement on April 18.
Crowley's Ridge College players JackHenry Glasgow and Bobby Wright have swept the Continental Athletic Conference baseball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week awards as the 2022 season hits the home stretch.
Glasgow, the Pitcher of the Week, tossed the first perfect game in school history during the Pioneers' 10-0 victory last Friday against Ecclesia (Ark.) College. The freshman was a model of efficiency as he needed just 55 pitches to retire all 21 opposing batters in the seven-inning game.
The Paragould native has made 10 appearances, including six starts, during his inaugural collegiate season.
Wright, the Hitter of the Week, hit three home runs on a single day by hitting a round-tripper in each contest of a tripleheader against Ecclesia. The Sikeston, Missouri, native hit .313 with five runs batted in and scored four runs.
The senior extended his on-base streak to 14 games by drawing four walks and tallying five hits across five games for the week.
Wright is hitting .316 on the season with 19 RBI and eight doubles while scoring 23 runs. His three home runs this week were his first homers of the 2022 season.
Glasgow and Wright have helped Crowley's Ridge have a 12-22 record with three weeks to go until the CAC championship tournament May 7-9 in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
