Cornerstone United Methodist Church issued the following announcement Oct. 6.
We learned that God helps us when we’re helpless (Baby Moses), God helps us when we’re weak (Burning Bush & Aaron helping Moses talk to Pharaoh), God helps us when we’re in trouble (10 Plagues), and God helps us help others (Manna & Quail).
Y’all, some of the discussions we had were centered around how sometimes we’re the helpers God uses to help others, and these kiddos are getting it and making some awesome connections.
One of my favorite activities had them write their weaknesses on individual Post-It notes to cover the word “WEAK.” We covered that word entirely with our 21 weaknesses. It felt like a LOT. But then they wrote the people and ways God uses to help us overcome those weaknesses. And guess what? We came up with 48 people and ways God used to help us overcome our weaknesses! And guess what? Those 48 “helpers” covered all the weaknesses and the word “weak” was no longer recognizable. It was a beautiful picture of God making the weak strong, and it was cool to see the kiddos so excited about all the helpers in their world!
In October we’re working through the 10 Commandments, continuing God‘s work in and through Moses!
