U.S. Congressman Rick Crawford, who represents Arkansas’ 1st district, has issued several public statements on social media in response to recent national events and the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.
On September 10, 2025, Crawford posted his reaction to the killing of Kirk, stating, “I am devastated by the assassination of Charlie Kirk, and I am praying for his family and loved ones. He will always be the voice that shaped a generation of conservatism, and that will live on. I have complete confidence in FBI Director Patel to carry out a robust and rapid”.
The following day, marking the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Crawford reflected on the tragedy’s impact: “Today, we remember and honor those lives lost in the September 11th terrorist attacks on the United States. We remember the first responders who ran toward danger without hesitation and the heroes who sacrificed their lives to save others. The words ‘Never Forget’ continue to” (September 11, 2025).
On September 12, after authorities apprehended a suspect related to Kirk’s death, Crawford wrote: “Thank you to all the local, state, and federal law enforcement who didn’t rest until this terrorist was apprehended. Under Director Patel and AG Bondi’s leadership, I am confident justice for Charlie will be served and I strongly encourage them to make an example of this cowardly”.
Rick Crawford has served as a member of Congress since 2011 after succeeding Marion Berry. He was born in Homestead Air Force Base, Florida in 1966 and currently resides in Jonesboro at age 57. Crawford graduated from Arkansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1996.
