Rep. Rick Crawford, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Arkansas’ 1st district since 2011, posted several updates on October 6, 2025, regarding ongoing political issues and his recent community engagement.
In a tweet addressing the federal government shutdown, Crawford wrote on October 6: “DAY 6 of the DEMOCRAT Shutdown. The House did its job and passed a CLEAN funding bill so that we can finish our work on the appropriations process. Now, Senate Democrats are playing partisan games with an unserious list of demands on what should be a CLEAN spending bill. It’s”.
Later that day, Crawford shared his experience meeting local students: “Really enjoyed meeting with some of the students at Newport Elementary School in Newport, Arkansas, to discuss how the federal government works as they finished up their study of the U.S. Constitution last week. The future looks bright!” (October 6).
Addressing concerns about military families during the shutdown, he posted: “Military families are hurting under the Democrats’ shutdown.” (October 6).
Crawford has represented Arkansas’s 1st district since replacing Marion Berry in 2011 and currently resides in Jonesboro. Born in Homestead Air Force Base, Florida in 1966, he is now 57 years old and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Arkansas State University.
