Richard Rogers has announced his intention to seek re-election to the Craighead County Quorum Court, representing District 7. The elections are scheduled for March 5.

The 2023-24 Craighead County Quorum Court included representatives from thirteen districts, with Richard Rogers representing District 7. Other members of the court were Brad Noel (District 1), Garrett Barnes (District 2), Bobby Forrest (District 3), Linda Allison (District 4), Barbara Weinstock (District 5), Darrel Cook (District 6), David Tennison (District 8), Josh Longmire (District 9), Steve Cline (District 10), Dan Pasmore (District 11), Terry Couch (District 12) and Kevin Williams (District 13).

In the fiscal year of 2022, Craighead County adopted a total operating budget of $18,735,925.72.

Rogers currently holds the position of chair on the Public Service Committee.

According to Jonesboro Sun, Rogers, a member of the Republican party, has been serving on the Quorum Court since his first election in 2013. Upon announcing his re-election campaign, Rogers said, “I am running for re-election to continue being a voice for fiscal restraint on the Quorum Court. […] I’ve worked to apply common sense to county government and spend our tax dollars wisely while also strategically planning for growth in the county.”

The Jonesboro Sun also reported that Rogers has held a position on the Valley View School Board since as far back as 2012.

Rogers’ professional experience extends beyond public service roles. According to Linkedin, he has worked as a Senior Risk Advisor at Cadence Insurance and previously held sales positions at True Health Diagnostics between years of 2015-16, Shire Pharmaceuticals from years of 2013-15, Boston Scientific during years of 2012-13, and Ameritox from 2008-12.

Rogers is a graduate of Arkansas State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1998. He is married with two children and resides in Jonesboro.

Reiterating his campaign message to the Jonesboro Sun, Rogers stated that he seeks re-election “to continue being a voice for fiscal restraint on the Quorum Court. I’ve worked to apply common sense to county government and spend our tax dollars wisely while also strategically planning for growth in the county.”
