Rep. Rick Crawford, who represents Arkansas’ 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of messages on social media addressing STEM education and national security reforms.
On September 9, 2025, Crawford announced the launch of a technology competition for students in his district: “STEM drives our country forward and fostering our youth’s interest in it is one of the best investments we can make. That’s why I’m thrilled to kick off the 2025 Congressional App Challenge for AR-01 high schoolers. Submit your apps by Oct. 30 at https://t.co/7NpgvsThi5. #AR01”.
Later that day, he commented on counterintelligence issues facing the United States: “Yet another jaw-dropping example that supports @HouseIntel’s strong case for long-overdue reform of the U.S. counterintelligence enterprise. For decades, our adversaries and foreign governments have treated the American homeland as their own turf because we have allowed them.”
On September 10, Crawford provided an update on legislative efforts related to intelligence oversight: “.@HouseIntel just passed the #FY26IAA out of Committee, delivering on @POTUS’ agenda by taking bold, unprecedented steps to return the IC to its high-stakes mission by:
Modernizing & optimizing our nation’s counterintelligence enterprise to be more agile and responsive”.
Crawford has represented Arkansas’s 1st District since replacing Marion Berry in 2011 and is currently serving in Congress. He was born in Homestead Air Force Base, Florida in 1966 and now resides in Jonesboro at age 57. He graduated from Arkansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1996.
