Rep. Rick Crawford, a U.S. Congressman representing Arkansas’ 1st district since 2011, recently used his social media platform to discuss new legislative efforts and provide updates for local farmers.
On December 17, 2025, Crawford announced his role in sponsoring legislation aimed at supporting rural communities: “I’m glad to lead the Bridge the Gap for Rural Communities Act (H.R. 5710) with my friend @RepJuliaLetlow to provide financial relief for our farmers. Rising costs and tight margins mean our producers need positive cash flow now to plant next season and secure our food supply. https://t.co/QURxsLhOPq”
Later that day, he provided a follow-up specifically for Arkansas farmers regarding an upcoming assistance program: “Follow-up for AR farmers on the $12B Farmer Bridge Assistance Program: To be eligible, make sure your 2025 acreage reporting is accurate with your closest FSA office by 5 PM THIS FRIDAY, December 19. Don’t miss this critical deadline. Look for payments in February of 2026!” This message emphasized the importance of timely reporting to access federal aid.
In another post from December 17, Crawford addressed recent congressional debates about presidential authority in national defense: “Today, I joined @HouseForeignGOP Chairman @RepBrianMast on the House floor to push back on House Democrats’ resolutions that seek to tie President Trump’s hands by denying his constitutional authority to defend the U.S. homeland and protect our Western Hemisphere neighborhood.”
Crawford has served as Arkansas’s representative since succeeding Marion Berry in Congress in 2011 and currently resides in Jonesboro. Born at Homestead Air Force Base, Florida in 1966, he is an alumnus of Arkansas State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1996.
