Arkansas State University track and field athlete Carlo Martinez-Jaramillo won the men’s 10,000 meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational, according to an April 17 announcement from the team.
The result highlights a strong start for Arkansas State’s athletes at the event in Azusa, California. Four Red Wolves set new personal bests during the first day of competition.
Martinez-Jaramillo finished with a time of 29:58.11, outperforming 27 other competitors. This marks his first outdoor track and field win since April 26-27, 2024, when he took first place in the 500 meters at the Warhawk Classic. He now holds the fifth fastest time in program history for the men’s 10,000 meters.
Other notable performances included Devyn O’Daniel (10:51.32), Erika Krueger (11:02.51), and Lizzee Winkler (11:03.83), who each achieved personal bests in the women’s 3000-meter steeplechase. On the men’s side, Evan Stevens posted a time of 9:30.46 to finish in eighty-fourth place.
The Red Wolves’ distance runners are scheduled to continue competing at the Bryan Clay Invitational while most of their teammates will begin events at the Arkansas State Alumni Classic on April 17.
