Senior Colby Eddowes and junior Kamil Przybyla led the Arkansas State Red Wolves on the final day of the Sun Belt Indoor Track & Field Championships held at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Eddowes secured his third consecutive individual conference title in the men’s heptathlon, finishing first in four events and totaling 5,671 points. This achievement, along with Miranda Burgett’s victory in the women’s pentathlon earlier in the competition, marks the first time since 2007 that Arkansas State has won both multi-events at a Sun Belt indoor championship.
Freshman Kercher Herring placed sixth in the heptathlon with 5,267 points, moving to fifth all-time for Arkansas State in this event.
Kamil Przybyla earned his first conference gold medal by winning the men’s 800 meters with a time of 1:52.64. Brandon Williams finished second (1:52.66), and Brett Jacobs also reached the podium (1:53.42).
Menachem Chen claimed silver in men’s shot put with an 18.20-meter throw, ranking fourth-best in school history for this discipline. On the women’s side, Mia Conroy took bronze in the 800 meters with a time of 2:15.01.
Arkansas State finished fourth overall among men’s teams and tenth among women’s teams based on total points scored during the championships.
