Crowley’s Ridge College issued the following announcement on Nov.15.
Crowley’s Ridge College found themselves on the losing end of an early-week matchup with (RV) Rust (Miss.) College. The Bearcats pulled down 61 rebounds in the 92-55 victory.
Crowley’s Ridge (3-3) kept the game close over the first five minutes, trailing the undefeated Rust (10-0) Lady Bearcats 8-7. CRC would be held scoreless over the next four minutes, while Rust extended their lead to 18-7. Down 43-30 at the half, the Lady Pioneers hoped a second-half push would close the gap.
That desire would go unfulfilled as the Lady Bearcats bucketed 26 points in the third quarter, while CRC tallied 10. A 13-point fourth quarter was not enough to mount a comeback as Rust took the victory 92-55.
Madison Sellars recorded her fourth double-double in six games by scoring a team-high 16 points while grabbing 10 rebounds. Lotti Hoffman and Kiyuanna Foster helped by adding eight points each, while Lindsey Browning pulled down nine boards.
