Crowley’s Ridge College issued the following announcement on May 12.
With Thursday’s announcement of the 2022 Continental Athletic Conference All-Conference awards, Crowley’s Ridge College saw four student-athletes selected. Lacey Lambright-Southern was named to the All-Conference Team in an at-large capacity. Shelby Elrod was honored as an Honorable Mention pitcher, while April Kennedy was chosen as an Honorable Mention outfielder. Layne Tedder’s selection as an Honorable Mention outfielder rounded off CRC’s honors.
Lambright-Southern led the Lady Pioneers with a .400 batting average. She also helped the Lady Pioneers with 21 runs batted in.
Elrod’s 131.0 innings pitched was a single-season record for Crowley’s Ridge, as were her 75 strikeouts.
In the outfield, Kennedy tallied 37 hits while swiping 13 bases.
Rounding off the accolades was Tedder’s team-high three home runs and a .482 slugging percentage.
