Crowley’s Ridge College issued the following announcement on Nov. 20.
Competing in their third game in five days, Crowley’s Ridge College found themselves on the losing end of an 81-57 decision to the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (Mo.) Eutectics. Lindsey Browning tallied her first career double-double while Lotti Hoffman bucketed a career-high 29 points in the loss.
Not scoring until the 6:20 mark, Crowley’s Ridge (4-4) fell behind 6-0 due in part to four turnovers in as many minutes. The NAIA’s leading point scorer in UHSP’s Grace Beyer tallied 11 points in the first ten minutes as the Eutectics took a 20-12 quarter lead.
Despite only attempting nine shots from the floor in the second quarter, UHSP (3-4) scored 22 second-quarter points, thanks to a 9-12 mark from the free-throw line. Kiyuanna Foster scored five points in the quarter and sent the teams to the break with the Euts ahead 42-28.
Lindsey Browning picked up the pace in the third quarter, scoring four of her 10 points while pulling down two rebounds. An eight-point fourth quarter from Hoffman closed the gap, but the Lady Pioneers ultimately fell short with an 81-57 loss.
Hoffman posted career bests in both total points with 22 and in 3-pointers by connecting on five. Browning earned her first collegiate double-double with ten points and as many rebounds.
