City of Jonesboro issued the following announcement on Dec. 14.

Our neighbors in need have provided the following information with requests for services:

Trumann is asking for restaurants that can donate food to contact the mayor’s office at 870-483-5355. Terah Redmond is coordinating.

The drop-off point for all food or other item is TRC at the Sports Complex behind Wal-Mart on Pecan Grove Road.

Monette has many needs in part because of the nursing home damage.

Current needs are water, clothing, toiletries of nursing home residents who were displaced, blankets, pillows, house shoes, robes, etc.

Contact City Treasurer Terry Thomas at 870-486-2000 if you can provide assistance.

The dropoff point is Buffalo Island Central High School at 803 West Drew Ave. Phone number is 870-486-5411.

Food is being prepared at Black Oak Baptist.

Thomas said the State Division of Workforce Services – the unemployment office – is at City Hall today helping people who lost jobs fill out applications.
