Brad Noel, a member of the Craighead County Quorum Court representing District 1, has announced his intention to seek re-election. The elections are scheduled for March 5.
The Quorum Court comprises 13 Justices of the Peace, each representing a district within Craighead County. The responsibilities of the Quorum Court include adopting county ordinances and appropriating funds, determining compensation for county officers, levying taxes, and filling vacancies in county offices.
In 2022, the total operating budget approved for Craighead County was $18,735,925.72.
Noel is running as a Republican candidate for re-election. According to reports by the Jonesboro Sun, if successful in his campaign, Noel will serve his fourth term as Justice of the Peace for Craighead County. He first assumed office in the Craighead County Quorum Court in 2012.
In a statement reported by the Jonesboro Sun announcing his re-election campaign, Noel said: “I’m honored to serve the people of Craighead County on the Public Service Committee. I want to continue to be a voice. Being a Justice of the Peace helps me give back to the community. It’s amazing how much this county has grown and knowing that I have been a part of that is humbling and rewarding.”
The Jonesboro Sun also notes that Noel is a real estate broker and investor who owns his own company.
Arkansas’ primary election day is set for March 5 with early voting commencing on February 20, 2024.
The members of the 2023-24 Craighead County Quorum Court included Brad Noel (District 1), Garrett Barnes (District 2), Bobby Forrest (District 3), Linda Allison (District 4), Barbara Weinstock (District 5), Darrel Cook (District 6), Richard Rogers (District 7), David Tennison (District 8), Josh Longmire (District 9), Steve Cline (District 10), Dan Pasmore (District 11), Terry Couch (District 12) and Kevin Williams (District 13).
Born in Paragould, Noel graduated from Paragould H.S. in 1979 and subsequently attended Arkansas State and Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee, where he played baseball. He is married with four children.
Noel has been the owner of his own real estate brokerage and investment company, Brad Noel Real Estate Ltd., since 1993.
According to the U.S. Census conducted in 2020, Craighead County’s population was comprised of 71 percent white, 16 percent black, and six percent Hispanic residents.
