Arkansas State University’s track and field team concluded the Alumni Classic on April 19 with seven event victories, while distance runners wrapped up their competitions in California.
The results highlight strong performances by both field and track athletes. The Red Wolves secured a total of 16 wins out of 31 events during the Alumni Classic.
Chris Boyd and Menachem Chen achieved top-three finishes in the men’s shot put, with Boyd throwing 18.81 meters and Chen reaching 18.76 meters. These marks now rank as the third and fourth farthest shot put throws in Arkansas State program history. JoJo Modile won the women’s 100 meters with a personal best time of 13.83 seconds, while Colby Eddowes finished first in the men’s 110-meter hurdles at 14.13 seconds.
Alexis Waller claimed her second event title of the season in the women’s triple jump with an effort of 11.68 meters, and Ali Lara earned her first collegiate win by completing her race in one minute, three point seventy-nine seconds. Gavin Schaer set a new outdoor personal best by clearing two meters in the men’s high jump, while Selase Sampram closed out Arkansas State’s day with a discus throw measuring over forty-six meters for another first-place finish.
In California at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Parker Noffz finished fourth among one hundred eighty-five contestants in his heat of the men’s fifteen hundred meter Open B event with a time of three minutes, forty-seven point sixty-eight seconds—setting both a personal record and achieving eighth place all-time outdoors for Arkansas State in that discipline. Later at the Leopard Invitational, Noffz ran eighth place overall for five thousand meters at fourteen minutes, thirty-eight point ninety-two seconds—a mark good enough for ninth on Arkansas State’s all-time outdoor list.
The Red Wolves are scheduled to compete next on Friday, April twenty-fourth at the Josh Reidinger Invitational held in Birmingham.
