Arkansas State opens indoor track season at Boston University and Vanderbilt

Arkansas State University’s track and field team is set to begin its 2025-26 indoor season on Saturday, December 6. The team will compete in two separate events: the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener at Boston University and the Commodore Winter Challenge at Vanderbilt.

At the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, several Arkansas State athletes are scheduled to participate. Brandon Williams will run in both the men’s 800 meters and men’s elite 800 meters. Kamil Przybyla is entered in the men’s one mile event. Erika Kreuger will represent Arkansas State in the women’s 3,000 meters, while Natnael Enright and Evan Stevens are set for the men’s 3,000 meters. Enright will also compete in the men’s 5,000 meters.

The Commodore Winter Challenge schedule features a broad lineup of Arkansas State competitors across various disciplines. In field events starting at 8:30 a.m., Amaya Brown and Kenzie Pruett will take part in the women’s high jump, while Finja Dziobek and Annika Wilbanks compete in the women’s weight throw. Zane Cattage is listed for the men’s high jump.

Other events include pole vault with Ben Carlile, Jacob Dorrell, Kercher Herring, and Gavin Schaer; long jump with Brandon Dodd, Colby Eddowes, and Kercher Herring; as well as weight throw featuring Menachem Chen, Omar Hussein, and Jared Moore. Track events throughout the day will see participation from athletes such as Katherine Schaefer and Abigail Tomberlin in the women’s 5,000 meters; Jackson Burch and Pranav Vegiraju in the men’s 5,000 meters; Jaelynn Blackwell, Miranda Burgett, Ali Lara, Maraya Mitchell, JoJo Modile, and Kenzie Pruett in women’s hurdles; among others.

The meet schedule continues with sprints, relays, middle distance races, shot put competitions with Dziobek and Wilbanks for women and Chen, Hussein, Moore for men; along with additional jumps and relay events involving numerous Arkansas State athletes.
