The Arkansas State men’s golf team was in sixth place among 21 teams at the Seminole Intercollegiate when play was suspended during the second round on March 15 due to weather conditions.
The tournament, held at Seminole Legacy Golf Club, saw teams attempt to complete 36 holes on Sunday because of expected inclement weather on Monday. The Red Wolves finished the first round with a score of one-over-par 289 and were 11-over-par through most of the second round before play was halted. Florida State led the field at four-under-par, followed by Southern Miss, Troy, Western Kentucky, and Stetson ahead of Arkansas State.
Thomas Schmidt led Arkansas State at even par through 33 holes. He shot a two-under-par 70 in the first round and was two-over while playing his fourth hole in the second round, tying for twelfth place individually. Milan Reed recorded an even-par 72 in the opening round and was two-over through seven holes in his second round, tied for twenty-first. Cole Kirby, competing as an individual, also stood tied for thirty-first. Jake Wallis (+6), Jake Lile (+8), and Viggo Hed (+10) rounded out the team’s standings.
