Arkansas State University’s baseball team lost both games in a doubleheader against Oral Roberts University on Saturday at Chapman Park in Tulsa. The Red Wolves, now holding an 11-5 record, were narrowly defeated with scores of 3-2 and 4-3.

In the first game, Cason Campbell led Arkansas State’s offense by going 3-for-5 at the plate. Starting pitcher Chase Richter allowed two earned runs and struck out four over six innings. Relievers Jelle Van Der Lelie and Collin Maloney each delivered 2.1 scoreless innings during the day’s contests, with Van Der Lelie recording a season-high four strikeouts.

The opener began with Quiller hitting a leadoff home run for Arkansas State, but Oral Roberts answered with their own homer in the bottom half of the inning. After tying at two runs apiece by the seventh inning, neither team scored again until extra innings. In the bottom of the 14th, a throwing error, single, and hit-by-pitch loaded the bases for Oral Roberts. The Golden Eagles won on a sacrifice fly.

Thomas Maddox earned the win for Oral Roberts while Cooper Garrison took the loss for Arkansas State.

The second game followed a similar pattern. Both teams scored in the opening inning—Patrick Engskov provided an RBI single for Arkansas State. Lane Walton hit his ninth home run of the season in the fifth to give A-State a temporary two-run lead; Walton entered these games ranked fourth nationally in home runs this season. However, Kole Dudding of Oral Roberts hit a three-run homer in the sixth to put his team ahead.

Arkansas State threatened in the ninth inning when Jake Henry Williams and Evan Griffis singled but could not score before a groundout ended the game. Luke Williams was credited with the win and Jack Hill secured his first save for Oral Roberts; Jack Nelson took the loss for Arkansas State.

The series will conclude Sunday at Chapman Park, with broadcast coverage available through Summit League Network as well as radio broadcasts on EAB Red Wolves Sports Network and via mobile app.
