Arkansas State won against Southern Illinois with a score of 11-5 on April 14, in a road game at Itchy Jones Stadium.

The victory marks Arkansas State’s 22nd win of the season and highlights their strong offensive performance, particularly in the early innings. The Red Wolves took control with a six-run second inning, setting the tone for the rest of the match.

Redshirt junior Ckyler Tengler made his first start of the season and retired the first three batters he faced. In the second inning, Patrick Enskov hit his seventh home run of the year to give Arkansas State an early lead. Evan Griffis added to that momentum with a bases-clearing double later in the same inning. The team continued its offensive surge as Griffis contributed further RBIs, including a two-run home run after Ashton Quiller’s leadoff single in the fourth inning.

Jelle van der Lelie pitched through the third and fourth innings without allowing any runs, while Southern Illinois scored three runs in their half of the fifth. Arkansas State responded by adding more runs late in the game, including another RBI from Derek Martinez and a sacrifice fly from Griffis for his sixth RBI on the night.

Ckyler Tengler earned his first win of the season while Alec Ammerman took his first loss for Southern Illinois. Arkansas State will continue its road trip with an upcoming series against ULM starting Friday, April 17.
