Arkansas State University Museum will celebrate the 36th annual “Through a Child’s Eyes” (TACE) art exhibition with an opening Saturday, April 1.

TACE is a juried art show featuring works by the region’s children, ages four through grade eight. Local judges will award first, second and third place ribbons to each grade level.

The overall winner will be honored with the Charlott Jones Best in Show Award, named for a former director of the museum and art teacher. All submissions will be displayed.

After viewing the exhibition, TACE guests will be encouraged to visit the museum’s main gallery to discover fun hands-on activities as well as ancient and vintage artifacts that spark interest in Northeast Arkansas’ rich culture and history.

“Art lifts the spirit and inspires creativity,” said Dr. Michael Reinschmidt, A-State Museum Director. “TACE will be on display for the entire month of April, so I encourage one and all to visit us to view the world enhanced through a child’s eyes.”

Admission is free. Museum hours are 10-5, Tuesday-Saturday; the facility is closed Sunday, Monday and university holidays.
